Baked Chicken Alfredo Calzones (Printable Version)

Golden calzones with chicken, Alfredo sauce, and spinach. Creamy, comforting, and ideal for weeknight family meals.

# What You'll Need:

→ Dough and Filling

01 - 450 grams pizza dough
02 - 120 grams cooked chicken breast, shredded
03 - 240 milliliters Alfredo sauce
04 - 115 grams mozzarella cheese, shredded
05 - 25 grams Parmesan cheese, grated
06 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
08 - 15 grams fresh spinach, chopped

→ Assembly

09 - 1 egg, beaten
10 - Flour, for dusting
11 - Olive oil, for brushing

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - On a lightly floured surface, divide the pizza dough into four equal portions and roll each into a circle approximately 20 centimeters in diameter.
03 - In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken breast, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and chopped spinach until thoroughly mixed.
04 - Spoon a generous portion of the chicken mixture onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a clear border around the edge.
05 - Fold each dough circle over the filling to form a half-moon. Press the edges firmly to seal, then crimp with a fork for a secure closure.
06 - Transfer calzones to the parchment-lined sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg, then use a sharp knife to make a small slit on top of each to allow steam to escape.
07 - Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
08 - Remove calzones from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For a vegetarian version, substitute the chicken with sliced mushrooms, bell peppers, or artichokes, and consider using alternative cheeses such as provolone or fontina for a distinct flavor.
02 - Store-bought rotisserie chicken can be used for convenience. For added heat, mix in a pinch of red pepper flakes.
