01 -
Preheat oven to 177°C. Line a baking dish or sheet pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil lightly coated with oil, or spread a thin layer of soft butter directly on the pan for crispier slider bottoms.
02 -
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, warm olive oil. Add finely chopped onion and sauté for 5–6 minutes until golden. Add ground beef, breaking apart with a spatula, and cook until most pink is gone, approximately 3 minutes. Drain excess fat from skillet.
03 -
Remove skillet from heat. Stir in mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired.
04 -
Halve the Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping the rolls intact. Place the bottom half in prepared pan. Lay cheese slices evenly across rolls, then spread beef mixture over cheese, and add another layer of cheese. Cover with the top half of the rolls.
05 -
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar. Microwave for 25 seconds and stir until emulsified. Brush the glaze over the tops of the rolls and immediately sprinkle with sesame seeds.
06 -
Arrange assembled sliders on lined or buttered pan. Bake uncovered for 12–15 minutes until tops are golden and cheese is melted. Remove, cut into individual sliders along roll seams with a serrated knife, and serve hot.
