Easy Applesauce Muffins (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 ½ cups quick cooking oats
02 - 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
03 - ½ cup sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
05 - ½ teaspoon baking soda
06 - 1 teaspoon nutmeg
07 - ½ teaspoon cinnamon
08 - ½ teaspoon salt
09 - 1 ½ cups unsweetened applesauce
10 - 1 cup milk
11 - ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
12 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
02 - In a large bowl, add quick cooking oats, whole wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Stir to combine.
03 - Pour in applesauce, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until the batter is fully combined and no dry flour remains.
04 - Divide the batter evenly into the prepared muffin liners.
05 - Bake in the preheated oven for 23-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

# Notes:

01 - To make a smaller batch, cut all ingredients in half. Follow the same instructions.
02 - For air fryer baking, use silicone baking liners and air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 10-12 minutes.
03 - Ensure batter is thoroughly mixed to eliminate dry patches of flour before baking.
04 - Bake muffins in a preheated oven for even cooking.
05 - Check muffins after 20 minutes, as oven temperatures may vary. A toothpick should come out clean when done.
