01 -
Preheat a large, heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat.
02 -
Add the ground meat, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook until fully browned.
03 -
Drain any excess grease and add the minced garlic, sautéing for 30 to 60 seconds until fragrant.
04 -
Add the coleslaw mix or finely sliced cabbage and toss thoroughly with the cooked meat and garlic.
05 -
Pour in the soy sauce and stir well to coat. Add the hot sauce, ground ginger, onion powder, and ground cloves if using. Stir until evenly combined.
06 -
Cover with a lid and cook for 2 to 5 minutes, or until the cabbage mixture is softened. If lacking a lid, add 60–80 millilitres of water to prevent sticking.
07 -
Once the cabbage is cooked to preference, remove the skillet from heat and drizzle in toasted sesame oil. Toss thoroughly to incorporate.
08 -
Taste and adjust with salt, pepper, or additional seasoning if desired.
09 -
Serve in bowls topped with sliced green onions and sesame seeds as desired.
