Texas Roadhouse Smothered Jack Chicken (Printable Version)

Juicy chicken with creamy sauce, savory Jack cheese, and herbs for a warm, homestyle dish in 40 minutes.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main components

01 - 3 to 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
03 - Salt, to taste
04 - Black pepper, to taste

→ Sauce and garnish

05 - 2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 240 ml low-sodium chicken broth
07 - 120 g sour cream
08 - 120 g shredded Jack cheese
09 - Chopped green onions, for garnish
10 - Paprika, for garnish

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat oven to 190°C. Rub olive oil evenly over chicken breasts, and season each with salt and black pepper.
02 - Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts until golden brown on both sides, approximately 5 minutes per side.
03 - Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until aromatic. Pour in chicken broth, scraping the browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let simmer briefly.
04 - Reduce heat to medium. Stir in sour cream, mixing until the sauce is smooth. Allow the mixture to bubble gently for about 5 minutes.
05 - Transfer the chicken breasts into a baking dish if needed. Evenly distribute shredded Jack cheese over each breast and pour the sauce over. Bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
06 - Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkling of paprika before serving.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For enhanced flavor, allow the chicken to rest for several minutes before serving to retain juices.
