Place ripe strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle with sugar. Mash with a fork.

Spoon 2 tablespoons worth of mashed strawberries into 6 piles on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate that will fit into your freezer. Freeze for 3-4 hours or until frozen solid.

Melt the chocolate candy coating according to package directions.

Dip each frozen strawberry cluster into the melted chocolate and place it back onto the parchment paper.

Return the chocolate-covered clusters to the freezer until the chocolate hardens.
