Peppermint Gooey Bars Treat (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 box (15.25 oz) white or vanilla cake mix
02 - 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
03 - 1 egg
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
05 - 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
06 - 1 cup (180 g) white chocolate chips
07 - 1/2 cup (60 g) crushed candy canes
08 - 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
02 - In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, melted butter, egg, vanilla, and peppermint extract until well combined. Press 2/3 of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
03 - Sprinkle the white chocolate chips and crushed candy canes over the dough. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top.
04 - Crumble the remaining 1/3 of the dough over the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still gooey.
05 - Let cool for at least 1 hour before slicing into bars. (Optional) Sprinkle with extra crushed candy canes for a festive touch!

# Notes:

01 - Extra chocolaty? Use dark chocolate chips instead of white.
02 - Want crunch? Add chopped pecans or walnuts.
03 - Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
